‘Wendors’! Sidewalk
vendors tried to sell you everything from postcards, books, purses, scarves, fans, scrolls, musical instruments, lace
tablecloths, ‘Rolex ’watches, toys, etc. of every kind.
And you were expected to haggle and haggle hard. Once you got into it, it became kind of a game. You had to remember to not buy things because the game became so much fun.
